On the eighth round of the Tulp Hoofdklasse, Den Bosch won 3-2 over Hurley. Oranje-Rood played a 3-3 draw against Pinoké on Sunday. Points were also shared in the derby between HDM and HGC: 2-2. Amsterdam beat Bloemendaal in the Wagener Stadium by large numbers (4-1) and Kampong was too strong for Rotterdam. In Utrecht, the score was 2-1.

Den Bosch - Hurley 3-2
Den Bosch somewhat shook off the chagrin of last week's scoreless draw against Rotterdam. At their own Oosterplas, they beat Hurley 3-2.

The national champion had a dream start with a goal by Maartje Krekelaar in the first minute. Early in the match, Joosje Burg doubled the lead with a fine individual move by flicking the ball high into the goal from the right. After half-time, Suus Meininger brought the tension back on behalf of Hurley, but Frédérique Matla restored the margin from a penalty corner. With her 196th Hoofdklasse goal, she brought Den Bosch to 3-1, after which Annelotte Nijhuis still scored against.

The defeat fits Hurley's 'away complex', which has failed to win seven away games in a row. The team dropped one spot in the rankings to position nine, while Den Bosch passed Bloemendaal and is the new number four in the Tulp Hoofdklasse.

Oranje-Rood - Pinoké 3-3
The fifteenth time Oranje-Rood and Pinoké met in the Tulp Hoofdklasse became a historic one. Never before has a confrontation between the two teams ended in a draw.

Thirsa Kno opened the scoring from a penalty corner, but Pinoké quickly came alongside through Tessa Beetsma. After a disallowed goal by Pinoké, Merel Voermans put Oranje-Rood ahead, which also meant the score at half-time. Immediately after half-time, Lana Kalse equalised by punishing a slip in the Eindhoven defence. Babs van Hest seemed to give Oranje-Rood the win, but in the final minute Kalse scored her second goal, from a penalty corner, to give Pinoké a point.

Pinoké remains unbeaten for the ninth time in a row against Oranje-Rood but is already three league matches without a win. The home team scored again for the first time in three matches, but is still bottom of the league as a result of the point. However, the gap with number 11 Tilburg has narrowed to one point.

Amsterdam - Bloemendaal 4-1
Amsterdam beat Bloemendaal 4-1 at Wagener Stadium to decide the clash in its favour for the 22nd time in a row. With this win, the home team ended a series of two lost home games.

After a scoreless first quarter, Felice Albers opened the scoring, before Freeke Moes doubled the lead four minutes later after an impressive solo from her own half. With this goal, Moes is still four goals away from her 50th goal for Amsterdam. After half-time, Imke Verstraeten extended the margin further with a penalty corner that was taken advantage of. Sophie Thoolen did something back on behalf of Bloemendaal, before Verstraeten made it 4-1 from a penalty stroke.

For Bloemendaal, this defeat means the end of a run of four unbeaten away games. The team drops from fourth to fifth place in the league table. Amsterdam remains second, four points behind leader SCHC.

Kampong - Rotterdam 2-1
At De Klapperboom, Kampong won 2-1 against Rotterdam, which means the Utrecht formation remains unbeaten against the Rotterdammers for the twelfth time in a row. For the visitors, a run of three matches without defeat came to an end.

In the second quarter, Iris de Kemp opened the scoring from a penalty corner. She reacted attentively to a rebound and slid the ball under goalkeeper Kelsey Bing into the goal. After half-time, Eline Jansen doubled the lead with a brilliant backhand strike. Rotterdam came back into the game through a penalty stroke by Bobbi Dijk, but the Kampong defence did not let up.

This victory keeps Kampong firmly in third place in the Tulp Hoofdklasse, while Rotterdam occupies tenth place.

HDM - HGC 2-2
HDM salvaged a point in the derby against HGC in the last minute. Thanks to a penalty stroke scored by Belén van den Broek in the final minute, the home team avoided a seventh defeat in the last ten matches in the Tulp Hoofdklasse.

Van den Broek had put HDM ahead in the second quarter from a penalty corner, but after half-time HGC turned the game around. Mikki Roolaart, who already scored her sixth goal of the season, first levelled the visitors from a penalty corner, before Marta Segú Rueda put HGC ahead four minutes later.

It looked like the visitors from Wassenaar were going to win, but in the last minute HDM got a penalty stroke which was cashed in by Van den Broek. For HGC, which missed Isis van Loon due to concussion, the quest for an away win in the Tulp Hoofdklasse continues. The team, which did climb to eighth place, has yet to win a single away game this season.
