Victories SCHC and Den Bosch, Pinoké squanders points
Like Amsterdam, vice-champion SCHC and titleholder Den Bosch also started the new season in the Tulp Hoofdklasse Women with a win. SCHC beat HDM 2-0 at home, while Den Bosch was too strong 4-0 at Tilburg. Pinoké, which made the play-offs last season, came up no further than 2-2 against promoted Bloemendaal at 't Kopje.
SCHC - HDM 2-0
SCHC entered the match in Bilthoven without the sick Yibbi Jansen and Famke Richardson, but that did not bother the team. Already after three minutes, Jip Dicke cut through the Hague defence and rounded off nicely for the 1-0. Before half-time, sister Pien followed her example. With a hard shot, she made it 2-0. After the break, SCHC went on the hunt for a third goal, but none came. It did mark SCHC's eighth consecutive victory over HDM, which lost twelve of its last fourteen league matches.
Tilburg - Den Bosch 0-4
National champions Den Bosch won the Brabant showdown with Tilburg by a wide margin. In the second quarter, Frédérique Matla opened the score with a penalty corner. After half-time, Danique van der Veerdonk seemed to double the lead, but the goal from a corner was disallowed. Moments later, it was still 0-2 through Joosje Burg. The attacker scored her second goal in the last quarter after a fine individual action after Babs Reijnen had put the 0-3 on the board in between. Incidentally, it was no surprise that the Bosch formation won its opening match of the season. Since 1994, Den Bosch is unbeaten on the first round of matches in the Tulp Hoofdklasse Women.
Bloemendaal - Pinoké 2-2
Bloemendaal took an immediate point against Pinoké on their return to the highest level. After ten minutes, the visitors opened the scoring through a hit penalty corner by Sam Luttmer. Just under a handful of minutes after that, Rosalie Rosman equalised for Bloemendaal, which took the lead in the second quarter through Mijntje van Campen. Lana Kalse's goal from a rebound from a penalty corner prevented Pinoké from ending up empty-handed already on the first round of play.
ORANJE-ROOD - Kampong 0-3
The first three points of the season are in for Kampong. Although the Utrecht team was clearly stronger, it took a long time before the spell was broken. It was not until the ninth penalty corner that Noor van den Nieuwenhof struck. In the last quarter, Kampong ran further ahead of Oranje-Rood. Iris de Kemp tipped in a nice goal before Bente van der Veldt put the final score on the board.
HGC - Rotterdam 2-0
HGC started the season with a home win over Rotterdam. For a long time, little happened in Wassenaar. After two quarters the score was 0-0, but after half-time the home team struck twice in a short time. Newcomer Julie Pieper exploited a penalty corner and moments later Mariona Serrahima took advantage of a mistake in the Rotterdam defence. With the defeat, Rotterdam is already 12 regular league matches without a win.
