Boris Burkhardt just can't stop scoring

After eight rounds of play in the Tulp Hoofdklasse Men, Amsterdam is the most productive team with 33 goals. Coach Rick Mathijssen's formation owes this, among others, to top scorer Boris Burkhardt.

Burkhardt accounted for two of Amsterdam's four goals in the top match against Kampong (2-4 win) last weekend, outscoring his next-to-none competitors Marc Miralles (Bloemendaal) and Jip Janssen (Kampong). The Amsterdam striker has scored in seven of the eight rounds of play this season and only failed to score in the away match against SCHC (3-4) on 28 September.

Burkhardt has been on a roll when it comes to scoring goals for some time now. Since he returned to Amsterdam in the summer of 2022, only Jip Janssen (Kampong, 68 goals) and Jeroen Hertzberger (Rotterdam, 66) have scored more goals than the 51 that came off his stick.

Amsterdam productive

With 33 goals after eight games, Amsterdam is on course for a rare high number of goals in one premier league season. The current goal average of 4.13 goals per matches is currently the fourth highest ever for the Amsterdammers. Only in 1994-1995 (4.23), 2007-2008 (4.23) and 1996-1997 (4.55) was the average number of goals in one season higher than now.
