Oranje-Rood sign Scottish international Struan Walker
Scot Struan Walker will strengthen the Oranje-Rood selection next season. The 22-year-old striker signed with the Eindhoven club for one season, with an option for a longer stay.
Walker started his hockey career at Clydesdale and made the switch to Club an der Alster in Germany in 2020. In 2023, he returned to the UK to play for top English club Surbiton.
Internationally, Walker made his debut for the Scotland national team in 2021. Two years later, he was called up to the British national team and made his debut in the FIH Pro League, where he immediately scored twice in his first three games.
Meanwhile, Walker has 32 international matches for Scotland to his name and played six international matches for Great Britain. He is the second reinforcement for the team from Eindhoven. Earlier, the arrival of English striker Nick Bandurak was announced.
'We are extremely happy with Struan's arrival,' said the Oranje-Rood board in the press release. 'His international experience, attacking qualities and excellent corner will be a valuable addition to our team.'
